BIG NEWS! All Good Things…Must Get Even Better!

Barrett & Company Real Estate

It’s hard to believe that around this time last year I was celebrating the launch of my own real estate brokerage and the one year anniversary of the launch of this blog. My goal since day one has been real honest, real simple, real estate. In other words, to create an identity or brand as a local real estate company with accessible, hard-working and ethical professionals, superior use of technology, and the highest regard for the consumer experience. (My other goal was simply to dominate the northwest Boston real estate market, no biggie.) Well, I’ve lost many hours of sleep and countless strands of hair but hard work really does pay off and we’re getting closer to those goals than I ever imagined possible.

A few months ago a colleague introduced me to a woman named Laurie Cadigan, owner and president of Barrett & Company Real Estate. With 25 years in the business, Laurie has been extensively lauded for her work, received numerous awards, and this week she was installed as the 2011 President of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. Now THAT’S some Realtor street cred.

But she’s not your average real estate agent. Laurie rose up the ranks in the corporate real estate world as Vice President and Regional VP for Dewolfe, Coldwell Banker, and Carlson GMAC before purchasing Barrett & Company from founder Jane Barrett in 2007. She is a fearless leader, driven and forward-thinking…business savvy is just clearly in her DNA. These last couple months I’ve spoken to many who work with Laurie, and across the board they all told me that as a manager they couldn’t ask for anything more. It seems to me that her flawless reputation in the industry is a direct result of her strength of character, and her work ethic. All of that good stuff aside, Laurie is real, for real. And in it’s 33rd year, Barrett & Company is the kind of strong and vibrant company I always wanted, and they are getting ready to take it to another level of greatness. So we’ve joined them.

Here comes this year’s BIG announcement!

Clayton Realty Group has been acquired by Barrett & Company Real Estate and my new role at Barrett is that of Executive Director of Business Development. Wow, I just couldn’t possibly be prouder.

So what does this mean? What’s changing? Where are we going? We’ll have lots more info to follow but it’s all incredibly good stuff!! New fresh look and feel for this website is on the way and same goes for facebook, twitter and other social time hogs. We’ll be rolling out some SICK new market reports, videos, loads of social media integration, and property searches. Speaking of property, at Barrett & Company we’ve got an absolutely gorgeous portfolio of in-house listings to play with and a sweet new office right on Walden Street in Downtown Concord, MA.

Many thanks to our current and past clients and all of our incredible supporters over the last couple of years. Wait until you see what we’re doing next…it just keeps getting better and better!
