Halloween Treats Ideas

Unfortunately I have work commitments that are going to keep me from doing any real celebrating of or, more importantly, baking for Halloween. I have found a lot of really wonderful treats out there though. Here are a few of the best.

Candy corn cupcakes? Yes please. These cupcakes via The Little Kitchen look fun.

Baking Bites had not one, but two great vampire-themed treat ideas.

Vampire Cupcakes

Vampire Cookies

There is no need to choose between Team Cupcake or Team Cookies. Why not make both?

Beantown Baker had some fun with fondant for her Halloween cupcakes. I’ve never used fondant, but these make me want to try.

The Zombie Graveyard Cake posted by Cakespy on Serious Eats is really, really fun. If you don’t get a chance to make it for Halloween, there are always Walking Dead watching parties.

Finally, if you find yourself with a lot of extra candy on hand, Delicious Dishings has a tempting recipe for Halloween Candy Cookies.

I’m still hoping, at the very least, that I might get around to making Martha’s Candy-Corn Sugar Cookies while the candy corn are still around.

Let me know if you make any of them.

Happy Halloween!

Get to know Kat  (10 Posts)

Kat has enjoyed baking and cooking for as long as she can remember. Her grandmother, Rita, was a great baker—especially of pies. Inspired by Rita, Kat began to be the one to bring dessert to family events. (Her grandfather, Stu, used to say that “Kat is bringing dessert” were some of his favorite words.) Often her family will hide the Christmas cookies she gives them when they have guests in the house. Her husband is a great tester of Kat Treats. When Kat is not baking or blogging, she works in higher education (but secretly dreams that some day she might open a treat truck or bakery/bookstore).
