I am always looking for ways to save money and with swap.com it’s easy to do that. It is a website where you can turn in anything that you have and swap it for anything you are interested in. From books and movies to jewelry and electronics. It’s a great way to get your hands on some new things while parting with the old.

I recently enjoyed my morning walk while listening to this NPR podcast. It details the ways in which pets can help humans to enjoy physically and emotionally healthier lives. But this is not just a one way street – if you rub my belly, I will rub yours. Yes, the kind souls who volunteer to walk shelter dogs reap the benefits of exercise but they also have a huge impact on the lives of my canine friends. Dogs in volunteer walking programs are more likely to be adopted thanks to the exercise and socialization they receive. Speaking from experience, a forever home is the most important factor in keeping a dog’s heart healthy and happy.

“The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” recently won an Oscar for Best Animated Short. The animation is fantastic. I can’t resist an anthropomorphized book. The link is for YouTube, but this is also available via iTunes.

I am simply fascinated by this camera and the pictures it takes. When you click on different parts of the picture, the focus changes. We are talking AFTER the picture is taken, it’s revolutionary!
