A (was meant to be) weekly round-up of links or peeps or places or things around the interweb, that caught our eyes or ears and that we think is worth sharing!

It’s July and the dog days of summer are upon us. Let me tell you that it is no small task to keep cool while wearing a fur coat in 95 degree weather. But since it’s summertime and living with hot temps is not easy, I have put together a Pinterest Board with my favorite ways for hot dogs to beat the heat.

I came across the site hiphost.com recently, a way to get an insider’s view of different cities and maybe see things a little off the beaten path or even just pick up ideas for what to do on your own.

This video was made this spring to celebrate the first birthday of a great business in Cambridge called Gather Here. They describe themselves as a “stitch lounge” which means it is a place where you can go to make all sorts of wonderful things with yarn, fibre, and fabrics. You can take classes or rent time on a sewing machine or join one of their social events (“Pints N Purls” or “Handcrafter’s Brunch”). You can also buy yarn, fibre, fabric, and other supplies. I took a crochet class there and it is truly an inspiring place. The video gives you a sense of its wonderful energy.

I’m super dorked out over Google+ and also happen to be a cooking show junky. I remember back in the day when I used to watch my mother watch Julia Child. She’d talk to the TV sometimes like she was right there in the studio, but I bet she never imagined a chef answering back! So what does this have to do with Google+….enter Chef Hangout.com. These folks are really onto something!

I found this website that sends expired coupons to troops overseas. Since I clip a lot of coupons, I tend to have a lot of expired ones.
